Nick Seip (he/him) is the co-leader of Brooklyn indie band Noods, music writer at Slant Magazine, and Copy Director at Emergence Creative – where he helps give voice to big ideas that serve the common good. Nick’s fingerprints can be found on projects spanning social movements across the world. Over the past decade, he’s developed campaigns for housing justice with the United Nations, built digital movements for LGBTQ equity in the US, led marketing efforts for major benefit concerts, and more. Previously, he was the Senior Copywriter at Purpose – a creative agency where he developed bold concepts and narrative visions for brands working to achieve positive, lasting change. Before that, he was the Director of Communications at Cyndi Lauper's True Colors United, an organization he helped build from the ground up since 2013. Nick is currently busy as ever – reviewing new music, playing and going to shows with his friends, and riding his bike very long distances. Since 2016, my band Noods has been a fixture on the NY DIY circuit. Together, we’ve recorded 2 EPs and 2 albums of original music both independently and with Get Better Records. Over the years, we’ve been lucky enough to tour the country and share the stage with some of our own favorite artists. Our music has been covered by the likes of Stereogum and Popdust, featured on NPR playlists, played on the radio, and even selected as legendary punk mag New Noise’s Bandcamp of the day. In my role at True Colors United, I had the pleasure of directing the marketing strategy for Cyndi Lauper & Friends: Home for the Holidays annual benefit concert for 8 years. Historically held in person at New York’s historic Beacon Theatre, the show has grown into a time-honored NYC tradition. In 2020, we held our final show safely via livestreams on Tiktok, YouTube, and Facebook. The silver lining? More people than ever were able to watch the show and support our cause to end LGBTQ youth homelessness.
